Darryl W Bullock is the author of eight books, including:

  • Singer, David Bowie Made Me Gay: 100 Years of LGBT Music,
  • The Velvet Mafia: The Gay Men Who Ran the Swinging 60s, (winner of the Penderyn Music Book Prize 2022) 
  • Pride, Pop and Politics

Darryl hosts a weekly radio show and blog, The World’s Worst Records. His latest book, Queer Blues (published in July 2023), is a fascinating insight into the gay men and women who’ve played the Blues and made their mark on that community. Darryl will be reading extracts from it and taking part in a Q&A with broadcaster & journalist BB Skone (who is also our Main Stage compere).
