Influenced by Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, John Lee Hooker, Little Walter & Sonny Boy Williamson and later by Blues Inc’s harp player Cyril Davies, John became the founder member of the influential blues rock outfit Savoy Brown. John met guitarist Kim Simmons in 1965 and by 1966 Savoy Brown played alongside the likes of Freddie King, Chicken Shack and Fleetwood Mac at Kilroys/The Nags Head in Battersea. 40 years on John remains at the core of the London blues scene and Savoy Brown still tour the US ad Europe.
